#3485 - Alma de Maria

This very lovely 19th century retablo represents "La Alma de Maria" or "The Soul of Mary." It is also sometimes entitled "NS de Paloma" or "Our Lady of the Dove." In this image Mary wears a colorful garland of flowers which is surrounded by a radiating aura of light, stars and a deep turquoise blue background. In the foreground, the "Espiritu Santo" is represented in the form of a beautiful white dove.

This retablo is attributed to Agustin Barajas - the so called "skimpy painter."

Dimensions are 10" x 7."

Condition: excellent with only very minor paint loss.
