| This very charming 19th century ex-voto on heavy gauge tin features Maria Juana de Ademas, accompanied by her family and Nuestra Señora del Refugio in upper left. According to the inscription in the lower quadrant:
On May 12, 1867 Maria Juana de Ademas was stricken with fever, and having no medicine, willingly gave herself up to Our Lady of Refuge. And to offer a keepsake in Marabitlas, this retablo was presented on December 18, 1885. The ex-voto measures 14 inches horizontal x 10 inches vertical and is in excellent condition with only minor paint loss. |
