This unusually graphic and dramatic vintage Mexican ex-voto represents a doctor performing a seeming painful procedure, gastric lavage (stomach pumping) on his patient. The petitioner, Angela Arellano, grateful for her beloved husband's salvation, gives thanks for all of the miracles received in January of 1948.
