#4002 - La Piedad

This rare 19th century retablo, painted on heavy gauge tin, represents "La Piedad," sometimes also called "La Lamentacion." This classic Piedad depicts a crucified Christ in the arms of the Madonna with the sun, the moon and the symbols of the passion. The retablo is attributed to Agustin Barajas, the so called "skimpy painter."

Dimensions: 10 inches vertical x 7 inches horizontal.

Condition is excellent with ony a few small spots of paint loss.
