This colorful 19th century folk retablo represents "La Purisima," also known as "La Inmaculada." As seen above, Mary, shown here standing on the globe with a writhing serpent underfoot, is surrounded by an aura of radiant light with a brilliant red sun face peering around the side of her cloak. The retablo is displayed in a beautiful Spanish colonial style 925 silver repousse frame - a work of art in itself. Dimensions: image size is 10 inches x 7 inches. Frame size is 22 inches x 15.25 inches. Condition is excellent.
