This rare 19th century retablo on heavy gauge tin represents "Santa Maria de los Angeles" with God the Father, the Holy Spirit, cherubim, a crescent moon and the silhouette of a brilliant glowing sun in the background. The proud artist who painted this retablo apparently ran out of tin, so instead of coming up short, he added an extension along the lower edge to complete the rendering of the moon.
Dimensions: 15.25 inches x 10 inches.
