#3095 - Saint Joseph

A lovely 19th century Saint Joseph retablo. Saint Joseph, patron saint of family, fathers and carpenters, is usually depicted as he is here, with the Christ Child in one hand and his attributable blooming staff of lilies in the other. His colors of green and gold, his most identifiable attribute, are colors of new life, fertility and marriage. This retablo is attributed to the "double pin beard" painter. His unique style is unmistakable.
