#3113 - San Antonio

This charming mid 19th century retablo depicts Saint Anthony, patron saint of lost articles, fertility, starvation, expectant mothers, amputees and shipwrecks. The retablo features Saint Anthony and the Christ child with billowing white clouds, a beautiful turquoise blue / green field and text in the foreground -- "San Antonio de Padua Ano 1871 D.A." This retablo was painted by the D.A. painter (initialed lower right) for Donaciano Aguilar, one of Mexico's most important retablo painters.

Dimensions: 10 inches x 7 inches.

Condition is excellent.
