#2058 - San Jose

This stylistically unique 19th century retablo on heavy gauge tin represents "St. Joseph," patron saint of family fathers and carpenters. In this image, Joseph wears his traditional colors of green and gold (colors of new life) and carries a large blooming staff of white lilies (his symbol of purity). The retablo is attributed to the "red eyelid painter." His unique style is unmistakable.

The retablo measures 14" vertical x 10" horizontal.
