#3116 - San Luis Gonzaga

This rare 19th century folk retablo depicts a youthful "San Luis Gonzaga," patron saint of students, youth and purity. In this image, San Luis holds a small crucifix with his attributable skull, scourge and book (a common symbol of wisdom) resting on the table before him. Please note the two dimensional profile, the modeling of the anatomically incorrect face and hands. An all around great 19th century folk retablo!

Dimensions are 10" x 14."

Overall condition is good with only minor paint loss.
