A superb early 20th century hand carved Mexican coconut flask with exceptional scrimshaw carving - dated December 29, 1908. This deeply carved gourd shape "coco" features four vignettes, each surrounded by foliate motifs and large flower blossoms. The inset ivory spout and wood stopper are both original and intact. The overall level of quality and workmanship is superlative.
Dimensions: coconut measures 4.75 inches diameter. Overall height is 6 inches including stopper.
Condition is excellent, unbroken, original.
