Most of the fine art at Colonial Arts represents the relationship
between Spain and the Americas of the 18th and 19th centuries.
Whether a painting of "Santa Elena de la Cruz" from Mexico
or an "ex-voto" from Guatemala, much of the iconography
reflects the historical, cultural and religious links between "old"
and "new" worlds.
In addition to Spanish colonial works on canvas, our "Fine Arts"
catalogue also includes traditional nineteenth and twentieth century
folk paintings from Spain, Mexico and the Americas.
