A fine and rare Marajoara culture slip painted ceramic 'tanga' (pubic cover) from Marajo island, Brazil - 400 AD- 1350 AD. Richly colored orange and red painted geometric patterns over a milky white / cream colored slip. Displayed on a high quality custom made stand.

In excellent, original condition - unbroken. Good surface patination.
