This vintage hand carved and polychrome painted mask from Mexico, most likely from Hidalgo, represents a mustachioed black peasant, one of the two main characters in the 'Juan Negro' dance. Very well carved with multiple layers of old paint - circa 1960's. Displayed on a high quality custom made stand.

Dimensions:  actual mask measures approximately 8.75 inches x 5.5 inches.
