This exceptionally fine (and very rare) 18th century Spanish colonial oil on heavy gauge copper represents Saint Elijah (Saint Elias), a rare 9th century prophet better known as "Elijah the Thunderer." According to popular belief, God asked Elijah to clear the heavens of demons with thunder, and since then, in certain parts of Eastern Europe, he has been blamed for bad weather.

Overall condition is excellent with only minor paint loss.
