This early 20th century ceremonial mask from Mexico, most likely Guerrero, is a 'muerto (death) mask which was used during Day of the Dead festivities. The mask is made from an old leather soccer ball, with punched eye holes and notched teeth, hand cut and hand stitched to fit. A powerful mask, and an important example.
