The origin of folk-art lies in the desire to beautify objects used in daily life and in religious cults and to give them a character of their own by using the various materials and handicraft skills available.
As a result of many different influences which have all helped to determeine the character of Mexican folk-art, its forms of expression and extremely manifold.
