San Jacinto - #5957
$4,250
This rare 19th century painting represents Saint Hyacinth rescuing the Sacred Sacrament and a statue of ‘Our Lady’ from a burning cathedral in Kiev. According to popular belief, the statue weighed far more than San Jacinto and during his rescue attempt, it became miraculously weightless. San Jacinto is invoked by those in danger of drowning - hence the small vignettes in the lower quadrant with two cattle and a life raft floating down river.

Dimensions: painting measures 15.5 inches x 12 inches, plus tin nicho frame.

Condition is excellent.
